Eastville and the Village's Eastern Streets

East of the commercial core, the streets running toward Hampton Street and Hempstead Street form the older residential village, and the Eastville area was added to the National Register district in a 1994 boundary increase. The housing here is smaller and more varied than the core: nineteenth-century cottages, modest frame houses, and renovated village homes on compact lots, generally at prices below the Main Street blocks while keeping the same walk into town. For buyers who want a village address, the historic district, and the school district without the core's pricing, this is usually where the search lands. Confirm the historic district boundary by address, because it determines whether exterior work goes through review.
