The Lanes are the streets south of the highway framed by Indian Wells Highway, Atlantic Avenue, and Bluff Road, and they are the most balanced buy in Amagansett. Set perpendicular to Main Street, they put you within a short walk or bike ride of both the ocean and the crossroads, and they straddle two historic districts, so the housing stock mixes nineteenth-century houses, mid-century cottages, careful renovations, and a small number of new builds. This is the pocket that buyers who rented in Amagansett for a few summers usually end up in. Recent activity has commonly run from about $2.5 million to $8 million depending on lot, condition, and distance to the beach.
